📝 Ingredients
- 1 cup rava (semolina/sooji)
- 2 tablespoons oil + 1 tbsp ghee
- 1 teaspoon mustard seeds
- 1 teaspoon urad dal
- 1 teaspoon chana dal
- 1–2 green chilies (finely chopped)
- 1 dried red chili (broken)
- 8–10 curry leaves
- ½ inch ginger (grated)
- 1 medium onion (finely chopped)
- 1 small tomato (finely chopped)
- 1 small carrot (finely chopped)
- 8–10 green beans (chopped)
- ½ teaspoon turmeric powder
- Salt to taste
- 2½ cups hot water
- Fresh coriander leaves (for garnish)
- Grated coconut & lemon wedges (optional)
👩‍🍳Recipe
- Step 1: Dry Roast the Rava
- In a pan, dry roast the rava on low heat till it turns aromatic. Remove and keep aside.
- Step 2: Prepare Tempering
- Heat oil and ghee in a pan. Add mustard seeds, let them splutter. Add urad dal, chana dal and fry till golden.
- Step 3: Add Aromatics
- Add chopped green chilies, red chili, curry leaves, and grated ginger. Sauté for a few seconds.
- Step 4: Add Veggies
- Add chopped onions and sauté till translucent. Then add tomatoes, carrots, and beans. Cook for 3–4 minutes till veggies soften.
- Step 5: Spices & Water
- Add turmeric and salt. Pour in hot water carefully and bring it to a boil.
- Step 6: Cook the Rava
- Slowly add the roasted rava while stirring continuously to avoid lumps. Cover and cook on low flame for 3–4 minutes.
- Step 7: Final Touch
- Once done, mix well. Garnish with coriander, coconut (optional), and a squeeze of lemon juice.
