- 1 tbsp chopped cilantro (for garnish)
- 1 tbsp kasuri methi (dried fenugreek leaves)
- 1/4 tsp cumin powder
- 1/4 tsp coriander powder
- 1 onion, sliced thinly (for garnish)
Recipe
- Step 1: Prepare the Fish
- - Cut the fish fillets into bite-sized cubes and set aside.
- - Pat dry the fish with paper towels to remove excess moisture.
- Step 2: Make the Marinade
- - In a large bowl, whisk together yogurt, lemon juice, ginger-garlic paste, tandoori masala, red chili powder.
- - turmeric powder, garam masala, cumin powder, coriander powder, and salt.
- - Add the fish cubes to the marinade and coat them well. Make sure each piece is evenly covered.
- - Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and let the fish marinate in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes to 1 hour.
- Step 3: Prepare the Tandoor or Grill
- - Preheat your tandoor, grill, or oven to a medium-high temperature (about 180°C or 350°F).
- - If using an oven, line a baking tray with aluminum foil or a parchment paper for easy cleanup.
- Step 4: Grill the Fish
- - Skewer the marinated fish pieces onto a grilling skewer or place them directly onto the grill pan.
- - Brush the fish with a little oil or melted butter before grilling.
- - Grill the fish for about 12-15 minutes, turning halfway through, until the fish is cooked through and has a slight char.
- Step 5: Final Touches
- - Once cooked, remove the fish from the grill and let it rest for a few minutes.
- - Sprinkle some kasuri methi (dried fenugreek leaves) on top for added flavor.
- Step 6: Garnish and Serve
- - Garnish the Fish Tandoori Tikka with chopped cilantro and thinly sliced onions.
- - Serve with a side of green chutney, naan, or rice. You can also squeeze a bit of lemon juice on top for extra zest.
- Bonus Tip:
- - For extra smoky flavor, you can add a few drops of liquid smoke to the marinade before grilling.
